Honesty takes courage
The book's line is "The truth will set you free. First somebody has to say it out loud." Why telling the truth is one of the bravest things a kid can do, and what secrets cost.
Everything you need to cover The Truth Seekers, a middle-grade novel by R.R. Anders: fast facts, descriptions, a bio, images to download, interview topics, and a way to request an interview.
Twin sisters Stella and Rylee Martin find a book in their attic with their own names stamped on the cover, and inherit a calling: helping kids at a crossroads make true choices. Stella dreams the future. Rylee always knows where to be. A clean, funny middle-grade fantasy mystery for ages 9 to 12.
Thirteen-year-old Stella Martin has started over at so many schools she has the routine down cold: pick the outfit, flash the fierce face, survive. Castle Hill, Maine, is more of the same. Then her new history teacher says something impossible. He knew her father. The father who died when Stella was five. The father nobody will talk about.
What the Martin twins find in their attic is a book with their own names stamped on the cover, a calling handed down for hundreds of years, and a job description with no hours, no pay, and a whole lot of destiny. Stella dreams the future. Her sister Rylee always knows exactly where to be. And somewhere out there is a boy at a crossroads, running out of time, with no idea someone else is already whispering in his ear.
The truth is supposed to set you free. First it has to find you.

Stella is street smart and dramatic; Rylee is book smart and always one backup ahead. What sisters who are nothing alike can teach each other.
The Seekers premise: one small choice can change a whole life, and every life it touches after that.
Building suspense, humor and real stakes with no profanity and no gore, so grown-ups can hand the book over with confidence.
Stella learns the difference between flashing a fierce face and being scared and going anyway.
The twins lost their dad when they were five. How a funny book can still be honest about missing someone.
Stella has started over at so many schools she has a routine. Talking with kids about moving and fitting in.
Short chapters that end on hooks, an illustration for every chapter, and conversation starters for the drive home.
A spoiler-light discussion guide by part of the book, coloring pages, word searches, a secret code, a seek-and-find, a site-wide treasure hunt and a character quiz.
